President Barack Obama has granted Governor Ed Rendell's request for $3.5 million towards completing the President's House on Independence Mall in Philadelphia. This is where the nation's first leaders kept slaves. This project is to preserve where our nations first president stayed. This project is also to honor the nine slaves that former President George Washington kept at his home. The commemorative installation is expectedto be complete in the year of 2010. The governor says that there has already been $7.1 million raised for the $8.4 million project. The money that Rendell has requested from DRPA committee Jan. 22 will close the gap and provide the endowment of about $2 million for upkeep.

I don’t believe that the President should have granted that money to the governor because that type of project is something that your state is suppose to raise their selves. Even though this project is something that America should see happen our country is already in enough dept. Our country can not afford to spend this type of money when our country is in this type of recession. That money needs to be going to school funding.
