Many people believe that people who play Madden have a better knowledge of football than people who don’t, and a study has proved that it is correct. A Jan. 21 report of a study done at the University of Oregon shows that football fans who play EA Sports Madden NFL know more about the rules, such as general knowledge and business. They tested 15,000 NFL fans (some who play Madden & some who don’t) with 36 questions in five different football categories. The results showed that fans who play Madden answered an average of 22 out of 36 questions correct, and the fans who didn’t play the video game answered only 14 correctly.

As a result of this article, NFL fans might play more Madden to boost their football IQ. The importance of this article is that video games aren’t just fun, you can actually learn something from it. Other ideas that could come from this story are what would people learn from other video games such as GTA IV or Saints Row? For example, would they learn “street smarts” or how to car jack? The follow up for this article could be what do people learn from other video games.
