The City Council has proposed two ideas to increase the city’s revenue. Councilman Frank DiCicco proposed a bill to eliminate discounts on sewage and water rates for nonprofit organizations, and Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez proposed to keep current city wage taxes. They hope to increase the city’s money by at least $10 million. These are the first proposals since Mayor Michael Nutter announced that the city had a $1.05 billion gap (similar article found here).

This article is very important because of the fact that it talks about how we can save our economy. The author wrote the article clearly to appeal to us. I think the major impact of the article is on the people. This article speaks of ways to increase the city’s money, and if people see it as a benefit then they will support it.
